| We would like
to thank the University of Warwick for its positive involvement in
our work. Numerous departments have kindly given of their time to
enhance the value of this project. "Dr. Afzal's SCI programme is a unique and ambitious initiative that allows school students to gain first-hand experience of the challenge and excitement of real scientific research. The exposure which it offers to "real-world" research problems stimulates school students, develops their interests and demonstrates the relevance of their more formal A level study. I have no doubt that we would see significant increases in the number of applicants wishing to study core science subjects at University, if initiatives such as this could be replicated and rolled out to a majority of schools." |
